Isn't this supposed to be Roy's -1S from DYRL?

... it's been announced as a stealth paint scheme. THIS is the VF-1S from DYRL

I wish I could take a screenshot of it to show you... =(

The very first time we see Roy's -1S in Battroid Mode specifically in DYRL, it is firing at [the enemy that is behind] the camera. In that shot, you can see the yellow canopy cover. Unfortunately, after the opening battle, for the rest of the film, they broke their own continuity, and it has the black canopy for the rest of Roy's life.
Even Hikaru and Max's Valks had colored canopies regardless of which model they were flying at the time.

It's hard to tell. It looks like just a repaint since the pilot's wearing the DYRL style suits instead of the usual Macross suits. At the same time, the shade of grey seems to be incredibly off...

Not necessarily...

If you look carefully at Roy's -1S in DYRL, there is a slightly-blue tint to the 'white' livery compared to all other Valks with white in the movie, even Hikaru-tachi's.
The problem is, if this repaint is specific to DYRL, then they made a small error with it. In the film, like Hikaru, Max, etc., their cockpit covers are the trim coloring (red, blue, etc.), and Roy's is yellow (unlike in the series where it was black). So, if this repaint is meant to be the one from DYRL, then it should have a yellow canopy cover, not black. =)

I must apologize. I made a mistake. Since it had been a while since I'd actually seen DYRL, I went to YouTube and looked up that opening battle.

The canopy is not yellow, and never was... What I thought was a yellow cover was actually muzzle-flash from the Gatling cannon.

I am sorry that I made that mistake. I just assumed that it was a paint error that fit into the continuity of the rest of the movie with the other Valks' covers.
However, I am still right about the slightly-off blue coloring seen in the movie.

I actually looked over the movie again really quick. I can see what you mean by the VF-1S being a bit darker than the other valkyries. However when I checked the canopy cover, it's still black in the movie. Could you perhaps show me pictures of te VF-1S with a yellow canopy?

Why, who wants it ? Give me Roy's TV version (light grey) with tv super parts, Roy's tv uniform, and a hikaru tv pilot as a bonus and I'll take it immediately.

You guys are worse than armor modelers. "Well, it was red-primer when it first was painted in the factory except some were gray-primer and some were gray-primer with red rust-preventative coating and some weren't primed at all. Then the field painted them yellow except sometimes it was brown and sometimes they mixed the yellow and the brown and sometimes they started yellow and finished brown and sometimes the yellow was on top and sometimes on the bottom and sometimes it was green and sometimes it was dark brown instead of light brown. Then they sprayed green on top and THEN MY FREAKIN' HEAD EXPLODED JESUS JUST PAINT THE DAMN THING BROWN AND LET'S GET ON WITH IT."

I believe that is what is known as being ROFL-stomped.

I know what you mean...the entire " The smaller the scale the darker the color" attitude modelers have. So what shade do you use? Is it too dark for that scale but just perfect for another? Who judges what is the correct color of shade for what scale. It's freaking MADNESS! People like that SUCK all the fun out of things!

So looking at this Valkyrie the shade is correct for 1:144 scale, OK for 1:100 scale, passable in 1:72 scale and completely wrong in 1:48 scale!!

Go Figure!
