It's about time an update was made of this one-! So far as I know, only the TT 1/55 was made before; though I think a non-transforming model of the Fighter Mode came out 5-6 years ago...

Josh, do you think the larger/bulkier cockpit & nose arrangement will be similar to the one of the VF-1D you recently reviewed since this is also a two-seat Valkyrie?

This is actually a significantly different bird than the base-model VF-1. The cockpit puts the backseater on a higher level than the front-seat pilot (as opposed to the VF-1D which puts them in-line). The tail block of the VT-1 is also different from the VF-1. Finally, the VT-1 has vernier pods on the wingtips (note the "squared-off" look, as opposed to the VF-1's more rounded look.) (Obviously the head is different, but the head is ALWAYS different.)

-_-;

I was aware of all those differences between the VF-1s and the VT-1 before. I was merely wondering about the specific differences in the nose, cockpit, and chest plate parts between Yamato's VF-1D and VT-1 releases.

The cockpit is different, both inside and out. The nose looks to be the same as the 1D. The chest is probably the same as the 1D as well, unless the four marks on the 1D were molded into it.

It was also made by Yamato before in the previous 1/60 line. And the one from 1984 was Bandai, not TT, although it was still technically designed by TT to some extent.

TT, Bandai- it's all lovable 1/55-scale chunky-monkey to me. ;)
